WHO WE ARE.
Tourism Revelstoke.
Tourism Revelstoke is a non-profit organization contracted by the City of Revelstoke to execute the 5-year Strategic Business Plan for the use of Municipal and Regional District Tax (MRDT). With the exception of some one-off grants, we are funded almost entirely by the Municipal and Regional District Tax (MRDT) Program, which in 2023 resulted in approximately $1.3M per year of general MRDT in the budget that we are responsible for.
Our Model.
Tourism Revelstoke is governed by a Board of Directors and operates on a partnership model rather than the traditional membership model. This allows us to represent and include all tourism partners in our initiatives without bias. We have official voting partners who pay a membership fee. This is currently comprised of only traditional accommodation providers.
Destination Management.
Tourism can’t just be about unbridled growth. It must also include the resident’s expectations and consideration of how tourism impacts the way they’re able to participate within their own community. We can’t be good hosts if we aren't able to thrive in our own community.
Maintaining our local culture is a key component to our success as a destination. Preservation of our unique small town mountain charm and welcoming nature is essential for our tourism economy to thrive.
Destination Marketing.
Our role is in storytelling, stakeholder relations/support, advocating for tourism, and managing the destination brand.
In addition to inspiring prospective visitors through marketing, we ensure that visitors have access to useful and accurate information. We are increasingly tailoring our content to attract visitors who are ‘value-aligned’; those who visit with intention and who value generosity, inclusivity, reconciliation, supporting local, and stewardship.

The Destination Management Plan was created with the support of the City of Revelstoke’s Community Economic Development Department and the Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce.
CITY OF REVELSTOKE.
The City of Revelstoke’s Community Economic Development Department is responsible for promoting Revelstoke as a place to work and do business, promoting services to assist with business retention and expansion, implementing the annual Community Economic Development work plan and resort development strategy, and supervising activities of the Revelstoke & Area Economic Development Commission and Social Development Committee.
REVELSTOKE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
The Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization, dependent on membership to deliver valuable services, business advocacy, and events to their membership and community at large.
The Chamber’s mission is achieved through the hard work and dedication of volunteers and professional staff who work in partnership with the City of Revelstoke, Revelstoke Community Economic Development, Community Futures Development Corporation, Kootenay Rockies Tourism, Destination BC and the BC Chamber of Commerce.
